I've been running VB6 Professional IDE in Windows 8 on a 64bit OS. Install as Administrator. Ignore the errors seen at the end of the installation process. VB6 IDE will then appear in your start menu. Same for Windows 7. I have not noticed any significant problems yet with compiling or during creating OCXs.
Take a look at this one: http://vb6andwindows8.codeplex.com/
And by the way some of statements about Windows a bit of confusing.
Is Windows 2012 server released only in 64 bit configuration or it is now have 32 bit architecture as well?
And if it have 32 bit version can one install VB6 there?
