I have an Electrical/Telecommunications Engineering background (both BS and MS) but I switched gears and got into .NET development. I discovered that I really enjoy coding and taught myself everything I know. However, not having a CS degree has been hampering me into breaking into the industry.
As such, I am still looking for an opportunity to work in software development.
I am currently expanding my knowledge in WPF, F# and Haskell. In the near future I hope to pick up on a dynamic language as well. On the side I am trying to learn about algorithms and discrete math (to help with the algorithms)
