  • You machine may not support the minimum requirements:

It must support virtualization and SLAT

  • Thanks for reply buddy..

    Please check it out..

I have Sony Vaio E-series notebook.

OS : Win 8 Single Language.

    CPU : i3 @2.40 GHz.

    RAM : 2 GB (requirement 4 GB)*.

    type : 64-bit OS, x64-based processor.

I think RAM does not match the requirement.

are you sure there is only RAM mismatch for that error??

Is that only final problem and not much more ?

  • Do you have hardware virtualization turned on in the BIOS?
    Friday, August 23, 2013 7:55 PM
  • You are correct on the memory.

Also check this article for Hyper-V  (i3) should support it.

  • I think your system meets the requirements (except the memory, but it should at least try to launch even though it may run out of memory at some point). The WP8 SDK installer should have turned on Hyper-V during the installation process. Check the installation log for any problems, or reinstall the WP8 SDK. You can also enable Hyper-V yourself. Open the Control Panel >> Programs and Features. At the left side of the , click on "Turn Windows features on or off". Something like this should appear with Hyper-V option.

  • Are you running Windows 8 Professional? Many computers do not come with the Pro version preinstalled. The lower versions of Windows 8 don't support Hyper-V.

  • but I unable to find any Hyper-V folder as 'checked' or 'unchecked'.

    It is as:

Is the "memory" bolded above about RAM not HDD?

  • You have standard Windows 8, not Windows 8 Pro. You can still develop for WP7 and run the WP7 emulator, or debug with a real WP8 device. If you want the WP8 emulator, you'll need to upgrade your system to Windows 8 Pro.

The system upgrader is called "Windows 8 Pro Pack". Do a web search for vendors.

  • Ok, so here I go, I need help too.

Basically I got into developing again after a long hiatus and decided to give WP8 a shot, downloaded VS Express and started with some tutorials. My machine has WP8 PRO, 4GBs of RAM and Hyper V is enabled. Every time I run the emulator for the first time when I fire it up it asks me to allow Hyper V, adding it will need a restart.

Today, after a slew of Win 8 updates I had to repair the installation as it refused to work. Now it simply refuses to load the emulator and gives me that 0x08... error. Any ideas as I'm a Little disheartenned?

  • DID YOU GET THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM?

EVEN I AM FACING THE SAME!!!!

  • SIR,now i understand,

to just develop a app,,microsoft wants us to buy a pro version(when we are already using win 8 single language),,,worth 99$

i think this step is making a app developer from android to stop the development of  the same app on win platform!!!

as u know there is very little money that we get after successfully developing a app,,absolutely lot less than the 99$ ,,its a butt load of money

u guys are required to make the app development as easy as possible, not as difficult as possible!!

downloading the sdk is a headache!!!

somehow after downloading 1.6 gb worth the data,,,,it doesn't allow me to develop a app!!!

that's annoys me,i am sure that does to lot of them as'well!!!!

your s.d.k shouldn't be based on the o.s u are using!!!(may be a little,,,,but this is far away from tolerable)

  • Yes buddy,

    That's exactly what you got.

Using Virtualization Technique and Hyper-v is an another headache for those who have older version or PCs.

Some days before I brought a new laptop which have some problem about using Hardware virtualization that's why it is partially waste for me.

But developing apps for Android like Operating System its very easy and don't need to get latest configuration of System like SLAT support, Hardware virtualization, Hyper-v etc...

Microsoft needs to think about this and make it as easy as possible not as a rocket science.

  • I think this is very disappointing thing, that's why WP have very less counts of applications.
