  • Before you run the test, complete the test setup as described in the test requirements: USB Bus Controller Testing Prerequisites.

To complete this debug test, you must configure two computers. The computer that you are trying to certify is referred to as the System under Test
(SUT). The second computer is referred to as the Host. For ARM testing, the second computer cannot be an ARM client. (Add another system as the Host to your machine pool)

When you run this test, a parameters dialog will appear. In the AccessiblePorts field, enter 0 or 1.

    Accessible Port Value

    Description

    0

An xHCI controller is present but is not physically wired to an external port.

    1

An xHCI controller is present and a physical port is available.

If the SUT contains more than one controller, you must specify the controller under test. (In case you have more than one xHCI Host controller on your system)

In the BusParams field, provide additional information to specify the specific controller in the format b.d.f where b = bus number, d = device number and f = function displayed for that controller. You can obtain this information using Device Manager to view the properties for that controller.

(For example, you need to input 20.0.0 in the field)

Under the Machine Set, Role drop-down list, select host. A list of computers appears in a list below. Select the checkbox next to the designated host computer and click Ok. If value is set to 1, you must connect you must connect a USB (Type A-A) crossover cable into each computer. If the cable was already connected, you must disconnect and reconnect.
