Spam in Hotmail RRS feed

  • I have email accounts with Verizon, yahoo, and hotmail.  My hotmail account receives a constant stream of spam - not so with Verizon and yahoo.  The spam I receive in my hotmail account typically has as the subject one long word with no spaces - and individual words typically begin with a capital letter to set them off in the long character string.  Not surprisingly, the messages typically refer to prescriptions, sex, Viagra, etc.  Each message typically arrives from a "sender" that has a relatively normal first and last name.  The long character string identifies the messages very obviously as spam.  I always mark as junk, yet the dump continues (now for years). Why isn't there an effective spam filter in the servers for hotmail?  Or am I missing something?  Thanks
