FBA + User Profile Synchronization RRS feed

  • Hi,

      When we enabled FBA Claims Auth. for sharepoint we got the problem with synchronization sharepoint user profiles with AD profiles for users. In the classic windows auth. it works, so I don't know what it doesn't work with FBA ?  I read about some tricks with sharepoint database but I don't know what should I think about it. Please help.

    Thank you!

  • Hi, I have still the problem with Updating Users profiles from AD to Sharepoint  users using FBA Authentication. As you know FBA creates 2 users in Sharepoint (AD and FBA user) but only AD user synchronize correctly but FBA not ;/ Is there any trick in DB or in other part of sharepoint system to enable this functionality in FBA ? Please help.

  • I thought about DisplayName which FBA gave us, so it looks like below:

    "i:0#.f|fba|administrator"

    Maybe this is the main problem why FBA doesn't synchronize the user profiles from AD ?

    Please help if you have any information which can help us.

  • What is the data source of your FBA (SQL, AD LDS, other)?

  • it's AD.

    in web.config there is a entry in Providers section as below:

    <Providers>

        <add name="AdProvider" type="System.Web.Security.ActiveDirectoryMembershipProvider, System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" connectionStringName="AdConn" enableSearchMethods="true" attributeMapUsername="SAMAccountName" />

    </Providers>

  • I haven't done this myself, but you likely need to hook up a Trusted Identity Provider and set the SPS-ClaimID, similar to:

    Don't forget to also review this page which the above appends to:
