Sharepoint Designer 2013 start a task process doesn't work properly RRS feed

  • Hello,

    I met similar issue as below thread when starting a task process in sharepoint designer 2013.

    <https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/zh-CN/e684e957-5414-4467-9e0b-6a987f4f0ba5/stop-all-parallel-and-series-task-after-rejection-in-sharepoint-2013?forum=sharepointgeneral>

    I uses a AD groups which includes two persons A & B.
    When using start a task process, I want the workflow goes to next approval stage if A & B both approve and I want the workflow goes to previous stage to update if either A or B rejects.

    The combinations I've tried in the setting page:

    1)
    Participants: persons from  AD group & "parallel all at one";
    Task Option:"Assign a task to each member within groups"
    "wait for task completion-wait for all response"
    Required Outcome: approved

    2)
    Participants: persons from  AD group & "parallel all at one";
    Task Option:"Assign a task to each member within groups"
    "wait for task completion-wait for 100% of a response"
    Required Outcome: approved

    3)
    Participants: persons from AD group & "parallel all at one";
    Task Option:"Assign a task to each member within groups"
    "wait for task completion-wait for all response"
    Required Outcome: rejected

    4)
    Participants: persons from  AD group & "parallel all at one";
    Task Option:"Assign a task to each member within groups"
    "wait for task completion-wait for 100% of a response"
    Required Outcome: rejected

    When task assigned to the AD group, and if A accepts and B rejects, all 4 combinations will trigger the next approval stage and none goes to previous stage to update.

    Is there any other setting I shall check in sharepoint designer 2013?

    Thanks for checking!

  • Hi

    You need check your wf condition to make sure it goes in the expected way.

    I don't think update need to go back to the previous stage.

    But I am not familiar with WF, so just a little suggestion.

  • BTW, In the transition to stage, I also defined the condition that

    if variable ID=approve, goes to next stage,

    else go to end of workflow.

    However, if anyone in the AD group rejects, the WF goes to next stage not to the end of workflow stage.

    What else shall I check?

    Thanks for support!

  • The if condition is not appropriate, I think.

  • Thanks Justin,

    I checked the if condition workflow lookup, and can select only from data source: & field from source: as I am only site owner not IT admin. Do you mean I shall get IT admin to check the WF lookup setting then?

    Thanks for support!

  • No, not that meaning. I mean the "if condition" you've set may not correct which causes the problem. The condition can not distinguish the wf how to proceed.

    I can not tell you the detail because I am not very good at that.

    I suggest you search some step guide to find something useful from the internet.

  • Thanks Justin, I did search step guides on sharepoint related forums but only got two posts with same issues but no fix.

    Here is the other advise post I referred to:
