I would like to installed XP embedded on 16GB SanDisk commercial CF card, but it always fails to start, the hardware platform is PC104。I have used two methods:①use the usb drive, install program can not find the hard drive after load some files; ②U disk as boot disk; always feel unreliable.
What's more,Xpe can not add a specific font, the font can not be modified

Hi gml777,
Welcome to MSDN Forum Support.
First of all those instructions are for installing XP onto a CF card. that means you've got a working XP installation on a hard drive already. XPe is a different beast since it creates a working installation for you already so you just need to copy it from your workstation to the CF card. so anyways, once you take the steps to make the CF card bootable you simply copy all the files from the hard drive over to the CF card just like it says in that document. once the files are copied over you just make the CF card the bootable drive.the best way to copy files over is to use a bootable CD like Knoppix or BartPE. As long as you can copy hidden files over you'll be fine. If you want to know other information about it, you can take a look at http://www.mp3car.com/winnt-based/49053-xp-embedded-to-cf.html.
Sincerely,
Jason Wang

Hi gml777,
Hint: Everyone usually forgot to setting HDD to active when they format disk.
beside, I test all of flash device just like CF/U disk/ HDD /SDD that can run very well with XPE. So don't worry about that.
