Windows server 2003 installation error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

I am trying to install windows server 2003 standard edition on a HP Proliant 380 G7.
Firstly let me say that I am not very experienced with servers or network hardware.

Ive used HP's smart start facility to start the installation but everything the server reboots and the windows installation tries to start it doesn't get very far. I get the following error each time:

"File \$WIN_NT$.~BT\halaacpi.dll could not be loaded. The error code is 14"

I found the meaning of the error code here:

    14 (0xE)

Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

Im not sure are these the same error code convetions.

Ive tried to install versions R2 32bit and R2 64. For the 64 bit installation the file is "hal.dll".

Id be grateful for any help,

    Phil Wardlaw
