Driver verifier is off . but getting verifier DMA violation bsod RRS feed

  • I have not enabled driver verifier. but my system crashes with 

    DRIVER_VERIFIER_DMA_VIOLATION (e6) bsod.

    How is it possible?

  • I suspect that Microsoft just used the wrong bugcheck code. Have you found the problem in your driver?

  • I can confirm that one of the teams at Microsoft used E6 for bugchecks with both DV enabled and disabled. Going forward were working hard to ensure this doesn't occur for new bugchecks and have worked with IHVs and OEMs to look for E6s, so they won’t be changing any existing non-DV bugchecks under E6.
