desktop.ini file RRS feed

  • Question

  • I had several files saved on a CD. I tried to copy a pdf file to the CD then got a message that I had files waiting to be burned to CD. One was the file that I was trying to copy to the cd and the other is a file called desktop.ini.  When I went and looked at teh files on the CD, the files that I had already saved on the CD are not showing up in the directory. I checked the disc properties and it shows that I have 225 mb of used space on the disc but how do I get back to those files?

  • Have you accidentally burn the files to CD. If you use this as a normal disk, you should format it as NTFS. For the burned data if the disk is not CD RW are lost ...
The Desktop.ini file are simple hidden files used by Windows to store metadata about folders and drives (eg icon), so it isin't important--
