Running a search at search time? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

I would like to extend desktop search in a way I don't think it was designed to do.  The idea is that when the user searches for a persons name, for example to find documents and emails, we recognise the name and also issue a query against a database.  That is, I don't want the contents of the database to be included in the local index, but rather search at search time and return the results to WDS along with the index search results.

What's the best approach, if any, to this?

    Thanks for any recommendations.

  • This feature is currently not available on Windows Search. This is something that we will address in a future release.
