Mpeg file playback issue (Windows 8.1 and Windows 10)

    General discussion

  • We have a problem with opening of MPEG file using MS Directshow components. We use MPEG-2 Demultiplexer and Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder.

It playbacks successfully on Windows 7 but on Windows 8.1/10 Demultiplexer cannot connect to Video Decoder showing VFW_E_CANNOT_CONNECT (0x80040217) error.

The file (linked here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9sYP9zM0ZVTeEdWTFVidFFmZDg/view?usp=sharing) fits to Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder requirements:

    Profiles: Simple, Main
Levels: Low, Main, High, High 1440
    Chroma Formats 4:2:0 chroma
    Maximum Resolution 1920 × 1088 pixels
DXVA The decoder supports DirectX Video Acceleration (DXVA) version 1 and version 2.
