I am doing something like transferring an entire directory (including subdirectories) across an FTP channel. The entire process is done in an automated manner. The file transfer is happening fine except for the matter that there are some files in my source folder that have certain unicode characters in its file name. However when such files are reprodued in the target end, the unicode format of the name is converted to some other format. Thus the file name in the target and the destination end differs.
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Most FTP servers do not support RFC 2640 for unicode ftp.
IIS 7.5 added UTF-8 support for FTP, this should work well with most modern clients.
