USB Audio Stuck on 24 bit and won't work (needs to be 16 bit) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a SPDIF USB audio box (Cypress Tech DCT-16) plugged in to an old amp that does not seem to like 24 bit resolution and only works with 16 bit resolution.

I am using Windows 10 Pro and the driver that came with it no longer works so it uses the 'built in' driver, but this is only allowing 24 bit resolution with no option to set to 16 bit (USBAudio2.sys).

Is there any way to force this to use 16 bit or make this option available?
