Is it possible to install driver in Windows Container? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Is it possible to install software only driver in Hyper-V isolated Windows Container?

I quickly tried installing .msi, which install driver using DIFxApp. Installation succeeded, didn't see any errors in the msi logs. But the driver service wasn't running.

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/windowscontainers/deploy-containers/print-spooler says driver installation from within a container is unsupported Does this mean printer drivers or any drivers. And it says unsupported. But is there some chance to get some driver working even if unsupported?
