Windows 8- Printer Postscript file attribute issue... RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Here is the problem I am facing in Windows 8 Release Preview...

When a print any file which is not yet saved to the disk, the resulting post script file prompt security warning on deletion.

For example: Start -> Run-> Notepad-> Type some dummy text-> Print->generates post script file-> On delete-> It is prompting You'll need to provide administrator permission to delete this file".  However, on click on continue, it will delete file.

But If I open any file from the disk and then print it, the resulting post script file deletes without security warning.

Comparing attributes of these files, I can see when printed without saving, postscript file does not add current user in the security attribute of the file with full permission. However, when printing saved file, it does add the user and hence will delete without warning.

I dont see this issue in Win7. Please advise.

Note: I am administrator on the machine.
