Set up a project in Visual Studio Code or CLion using CMake (KMDF) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm trying to set up a project with cmake in visual studio code or clion for a WDK (KMDF) project.

Does somebody know or have a configured CMakeLists.txt and can share how it should be done?

    Thanks a head.

Create a Cmake generator that outputs equivalent of a "modern" Visual Studio driver project.

Then build it using "WDK Enterprise" toolchain (basically, msbuild with the proper compiler and libraries).

Like with old days' DDKs, you can edit the code with any IDE or editor that pleases you.

  • Is there a specific reason that you don't want to use a standard WDK project? It's not like the driver is portable to another operating system, so what's the point?
