Pen pressure on Win8 Desktop RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have come across a lot of threads regarding "how to use windows touch". Especially when it comes to using mouse and pen simultaneously, I don't see a standard solution. By standard solution I mean something parallel to WM_MOUSE* for pen events too.

Currently I am using the APIs explained here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms700664.aspx, Even with this I couldn't find a straight forward API (something like: GetPenPressure(event)). I feel I am using too many undocumented ways to achieve this. Does this have to be a hack or is there a documented API?

    My question is,

    1. Is there a standard win32 way of dealing with pen input?

    2. Is there a WM_MOUSE* variant which gives pressure/tilt (whatever h/w supports) in wparam/lparam like the plain'old times?
