Dim the display in Windows 8 RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi all,

I'm developing a windows desktop program which related to power management in windows 8.  There's a term called "Display" in advanced power setting of every power plan. And inside the "Display" term, user can set "Dim display after" to control when to turn your display into dim state if the computer is idle.

I've noticed that in windows 8,  if your display turn into dim because the computer becomes idle, the brightness bar didn't move to corresponding brightness level, it was hold on its original level. But the bar moved if DeviceIoControl() function is used to adjust the display brightness.

Does anyone know why the bar didn't move in windows power plan if the display turn into dim state? What API function can do this?

    Thank you!
