HLK Automation with Windows Compatibility Playlist RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am in the process of automating my HLK tests for a device and am having trouble using the compatibility playlist provided by Windows here: http://sysdev.microsoft.com/en-US/Hardware/CompatibilityPlaylists/

    When I run this, I get an error that reads:

    Microsoft.Windows.Kits.Hardware.Certification.ExecutionEngineException: Failed to import test collection from file.

    further down it continues:

    System.InvalidOperationException: There is an error in XML document

        System.InvalidOperationException: <Playlist xmlns='http://schemas.microsoft.com/hlk/playlist/2014'> was not expected

       at Microsoft.Xml.Serialization.GeneratedAssembly.XmlSerializationReaderCollection1.Read9_ArrayOfTestCollectionRecord()

    Was the playlist not created in a way that is compatible with the tools for automation? In other words, if I automate my testing, am I now forced to run every test as opposed to only those required and listed in the compatibility playlist? I would like to cut my tests down to only those required for Microsoft Windows certification.

    Any help is appreciated!

  • Did you ever find a way to integrate HLK playlists into automation?  I'd really like to know how you managed it or if you found a workaround.
