Azure ASR Protecting VMware VM machine error id 78007 RRS feed

  • Hi,
    I am currently using the New ASR Recovery Services Portal and when protecting some machines get the error 78007.  The servers have the mobility agent installed manually with all details correct such as pointing to the process server ip address and the correct passphrase.  Currently have a number of machines protected with no problems. But have a few failures with event id 78007?

    Has anyone else been experiencing this issue, screenshot example shown below:

  • Hi Sadiqh,

    There are currently around 65 machines protected with no issues. The error above is affecting around 26 machines so isn't specific to just 1 VM.

    Have you experienced or seen this issue?

    Was the problem resolved? What was the detail error message ? For mobility service installation please check that you have allowed file and printer sharing in your firewall. There are other pre-reqs also for automatic push installation, which can cause this problem. Please check step 9 in the below documentation

  • I am having the same issue. All the server on the same network got no problem just 1 can't install the client

  • Is it not possible to install the agent manually only on this 1 machine so that enable protection will skip this in next protection.. Should be a good try!

  • Us too facing the same issue on some server, while other server are fine. We checked prerequisite (enable file & print sharing, WMI etc). Any help to resolve it will be most helpful.

  • Please install agent manually so this will be skipped during the enable protection stage. Have you tried this?

  • yes, we have done and try everything that has been said in number of Microsoft articles  it make no different.
