  • A connection to the SharePoint site cannot be established. To synchronize or refresh your list, you must be able to connect to the SharePoint site .

    Excel 2016 is unable to refresh the data from the sharepoint 2016 list

  • Hi Vinay,

    Please go to excel > data > connections > connections to see if there is your connection in this windows. If yes, please double click it and select definition tab to see if the detail information are correct.

    Besides, you could go to your SharePoint list and export to excel, see if you can refresh the data

  • Hi 

    As Michael said, please go to excel -> data -> connections -> connections to see if there is your connection (its name should be same with your file name) . If yes, double click it and select definition tab to verify if the detail information are correct.

    If everything is ok, you also need to make sure your excel security settings and your pc security settings allow you to connect this web site.

    I tried but still issue is present and i can able to refresh data in 2010 not in 2016

    Can you connect to sharepoint list in excel 2016?

  • What security settings need to be present for excel and the machine running it.
