WMI change not recognized until program closes RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a VB6 application the uses MsiEnumProducts to get a list of ALL install products on the local machine.  On Windows Server 2003 R2, if terminal services is running in relaxed mode, MsiEnumProducts does NOT return any data.  So I attempted to create a WMI script that changes the userPermission from Relaxed to full and then attempt to enumerate my products.  However, the enumeration still does not work until I close the application and restart it.

Why doesn't the app recognize the change and how can I get around this without having to restart my app?

  • Hello

Is this a compatibility issue? I mean, do the application works on Windows XP or other Windows OS?

    Thanks,
