Multiple monitors with different refresh rates not allowed RRS feed

  • Question

  • My display adapter is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and my primary monitor is BenQ XL2420T (Digital) and my secondary monitor is BenQ GW2406Z. All drivers are up to date.

My primary monitor is 120 hz and my secondary monitor is 60 hz. The refresh rates are set correctly. If there's any activity on the secondary monitor it will drag down the refresh rate of my primary monitor and also make it 60 hz - therefore making it completely useless for me to even have 120 hz in the first place. The monitors work correctly individually but that is not an option.

Windows 7 did not have this issue as you could disable the DWM.

This has been an issue for so many years I don't even remember how long anymore.
