How to interpret error codes

  • I have the following error produced by a T-SQL (sql2005) Stored Procedure (written by another company) on my SQL server. Error 0X80044818. On a forum post on another site the guy explained how to interpret error codes but I can’t find the post again L

I am guessing the first 4 digits are the error below but I can’t find anything on the second 4 digits 4818.

Is this the correct way to interpret the code? And if so where can I find out what 4818 means?

    Many Thanks

The file replication service API terminated the request. The event log may have more information.

This is a general error. Try the SQL Server forums on Technet if you need help getting the actual SQL Server error code.
