Certificate installation problem in VISTA (Intermediate Certification Problem) RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a CA (self signed) certificate with OpenSSL. This CA certificate works fine in Windows XP, but when in Windows VISTA I install it with the Wizard, the certificate store that is choosen is the "Intermediate Certification Authority" and not the correct one "Trusted Root Certification Authority" (i don't remember the correct name because I havn't the english versione)

So while in Windows XP the same CA certificate works fine (the wizard place it in the Trust Certificate Authority), in Windows VISTA there is the problem I wrote up.

Have you some idea on this error?

  • Probably is there a white list for root CA certificate in Windows VISTA.....

Anyone can confirm me this supposition?
