InvalidateAutomationAncestors + .NET 3.5 SP1 + WPF + Citrix RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a wpf application that is served to the users via citrix environment. It runs fine till a messagebox is displayed (well its one symptom that reproduces the problem always on few machines).

After the messagebox is displayed application becomes very slow. Even typing in a textbox (WPF as well as Infragistics) is slow (btw its a data entry application so you can imagine how the users feel about it). CPU shoots up to 20% every time I try to do any activity on the application.

After the messagebox is shown the application remains slow till it is closed.

While the CPU was being consumed I took a dump of the process from taskmanager. Analyzing the dump showed the dreaded InvalidateAutomationAncestors being called recursively. Folks have reported similar issues in .NET 4.0 but I couldnt find anything on .NET 3.5.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Best Regards,
    Vishal

  • In my case stopping the citrix system monitoring agent stopped the drag. Now to the next steps.
