No ATL? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I installed Vista SDK and found that there's no "atlbase.h" in the include directory. Can we use the atlbase.h shipped in "Microsoft Platform SDK for Windows Server 2003 R2"? Will it be added in the next update? Or MS will provide new smart pointers?

P.S. I'm trying to develop Media Foundation programs.

  • The Windows SDK for Windows Vista does not come with either ATL or MFC headers, libraries, or runtimes. However, if you have Visual C++ 2005 (non-Express editions) installed on your system, you can use the SDK to build using ATL or MFC.

There's more information in the Release Notes included with the SDK.
