OPM Driver Certificate Chain Roots at Expired, Untrusted Microsoft Cert RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on a program that uses OPM to enforce output protection.  The certificate chain I am getting back from the driver is unusual.  Firstly, it contains its root certificate in the chain.  And secondly, said root certificate is "Microsoft Digital Media Authority 2005", an expired Microsoft certificate that is not in my machine's trusted roots store.

Based on some internet searching, this is not an uncommon problem with video drivers.  What is the recommended behavior here?  Should I just trust that one root and turn off expiry checks?  And if so, are there other MS certificates I should give this special treatment to?  Or is there a better way?
