Bluetooth Rfcomm support for HDP source RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to interface with a Bluetooth weigh scale from my C# app.

    The services supported by the scale are:

    00001200-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb  (PnP)
    00001401-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb  (HDP Source)

    I have put the following in my .appxmanifest file:

    <m2:DeviceCapability Name="bluetooth.rfcomm">
      <m2:Device Id="any">
        <m2:Function Type="serviceId:00001401-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb" />
      </m2:Device>
    </m2:DeviceCapability>

    I can see the device but when I call

    service = await RfcommDeviceService.FromIdAsync(device.Id);

    service is always NULL.

    (device.Id = "\\\\?\\BTHENUM#{00001401-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}_VID&00020dbc_PID&0141#8&6ad20de&0&00091F800DB5_C00000000#{00001401-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb}" )

    Can anyone help me to resolve this?

  • Thanks Franklin for the response.

    I hadn't come across those links before, so they were a great reference.

    Unfortunately they did not resolve my issue.

    I have been looking at this page: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/dn263090.aspx which lists HDP Source (0x1401) as "not supported". Does it mean it's not supported via the "name" value (ie. it will work with the service ID) , or not supported at all?

    Hi Jeremy_K,

    It means this HDP Source (0x1401) is not supported at all, only that six services can be supported via name value.
