Weird behavior of Removable Storage Devices Group Policies RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello Guys!.

We have VMWare Horizon VDI with windows 10 Ent. We have applied Deny write access to removal storage devices group policy in user configuration. However, if a user connects his USB drive before logging on to the client, He gets write-enabled USB drive after logon. But, the same user when removes his USB drive and plugs in again, group policy comes into action and USB becomes write-protected. Same is the case if user plugs in USB drive after logging on to windows 10.

In the same envmt Windows 7 professional was tested with correct behavior. The problem is only with Windows 10.

Do anybody have any clue/idea whats going on with group policy processing on windows 10?
