Windows Virtual Desktop RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I have configured a Windows Virtual Desktop Environment for one of my clients. He wants the option of a 1 year reserved instance. When I compare the Pay as you Go pricing to the 1 year reserved it comes up as more expensive on the reserved instance. Is this a calculator problem or are reserved instances for Virtual desktop more expensive in a once off payment.

  • VMs acquire costs for the VM itself, any premium software running on the VM, the storage account\managed disk associated with the VM, and the networking bandwidth transfers from the VM. Reserved Instances are billed for every clock-hour during the term that you select, regardless of whether an instance is running. Each clock-hour starts on the hour (zero minutes and zero seconds past the hour) of a standard 24-hour clock. For example, 1:00:00 to 1:59:59 is one clock-hour.
