    1)  in win10-based PC running UWP-app (DeskTop mode) . Does Win-10 PC come with SIMcard module?

    2) in Surface Pro running UWP-app (tablet Mode) . Does Surface Pro  comes with SIMCard module?

for 1 and 2, What do I need?

Answers

  • FireDance, that only means the Win10 PC can send SMS via Windows Phone after build 14327, not means developers are free to SMS system.

  • Check out the documentation first: Windows.Devices.Sms

Note that this functionality is only available to mobile operator apps and Windows Store apps given privileged access by mobile network operators, mobile broadband adapter IHV, or OEM. For more information, see Mobile Broadband: Windows Store device apps.

So back to your question, you need to be OEM or mobile network operator first.

  • Hello FireDance,

Welcome to the Developing Universal Windows apps forum!

Please read the sticky posts, especially the Guide to posting: subject line tags and Known Issues for Windows 10 SDK and Tools .

Please make sure that you will title your tag so that next time we will understand your case.

By the way, I'm with Jamles. SMS namespace is restricted for developers to use.

    Best regards,

    Barry

  • Sending and receiving sms on Windows using universal api is explained in the sample https://github.com/Microsoft/Windows-universal-samples/tree/master/Samples/SmsSendAndReceive. The use of SmsDevice2 api requires cellularMessaging restricted capability available to Microsoft partners (company account with nda).
