[W8.1]ChakraCore in Windows 8 Store app Certification is failing RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

We are using ChakraCore.dll in Windows 8.1 Store app. The Certification for Release appx is failing. Please see the attached details. I am sure I building ChakraCore in Release mode, but still I am getting this error.

Please Help me to fix. Is ChakraCore.dll supports Windows 8.1 store apps?

    Thanks,

  • I do not think it can be used with a windows 8.1 store app.  It would be fine to use in a non store app

  • Hi Pallam,

@Ken's suggestion is correct and I have confirmed it with our experts. Windows 8.1 Store apps are not a supported scenario for ChakraCore, so we could be using APIs that cannot pass the WAC tools. I will recommend you use Chakra.dll on Windows 10 or jscript9.dll on Windows 8.1.

  • Hi Pallam,

After consulting with our senior members, using the chakra.dll or jscript9.dll can not pass the store certification. Only way to use jscript9.dll or ChakraCore.dll on win8.1 is to not ship a store app.

If it is very urgent, please use your developer account to open a support case by visiting this URL http://aka.ms/storesupport. You will get 1:1 support on that. Besides, please kindly note that your support ticket will be free if it is Microsoft's issue.

Besides, I will recommend you create the UWP app, in this way you can use the Chakra.dll in the UWP.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Thanks,
    Amy Peng
