[UWP] [JS] - Touch Not Working On Grid/Listview Apps After Scrolling All of A Sudden RRS feed

  • Question

  • My apps have been working correctly for a while and all of sudden touch has been buggy for the last year. Keyboard and mouse still work fine but when I use touch to scroll on a gridview or listview, I am not able to select any of the tiles anymore. Has there been a change somewhere in Windows or javascript coding that I am missing. Even the javascript RSS reader sample behaves the same when deployed on my devices. I have dissected and removed everything except basic code and I still cannot determine the problem.

The same issue happens on my mobile apps as well. It makes me think there is an issue with Visual Studio on my computer? I have tried reinstallation but nothing has changed. Has anyone seen this same issue or bug? Is there a fix for this?

  • Hi  jflintstone81,

From your description, what's the App Target Version and OS build you have used? Could you provide a minimal sample we can use it to reproduce the problem?

  • My app is currently targeted for 10.0.16299.0 with a min version of 10.0.10240.0. I am running OS build 16299.309. See the attached zip file with a bare bones sample of the code. Mousepad works fine but touch does not as described.

  • Hi jflintstone81,

It is a known issue, the reason is due to the API change of modern browser you can find this issue by this link: https://github.com/winjs/winjs/commit/a48a12e33e08fccdea7879af877b2cc3a7cb8ec3

The quickest way to fix it is to modify the codes of line 21495 of ui.js to this:

    modeHandler("PointerCancel"),

Or you can download the latest version of WinJS(4.4.4) through link: https://github.com/winjs/winjs. This issue has already been fixed in 4.4.4.
