AppFabric install fails on Windows 7 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Any suggestions? I think I have everything setup correctly (running under adminstrator, prereqs installed). Thanks!

  • I have successfully done this in Win 7 before.  Thanks for the log, it looks like error code 0x800F0805. Here is a similar thread: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/eu/dublin/thread/da19f371-29af-4dc1-970d-b09b3069b1fb. Did you recently upgrade the OS?

    Thanks,

  • I figured it out: Here's what I had to do:

    1. comment out all of the references to workflow in machine.config

    2. delete the AppFabric folder and all contents in Windows/System32/AppFabric

    3. edited the registry removing all references to AppFabric located in the C: drive

    4. deleted all the following keys in the registry that referenced dlls related to AppFabric

    FX:{a03193eb-3fdc-4d8b-a5f2-3c817fa0f8ef}
    {54a5365c-3ad9-405c-b1e8-7d9a257eac9f}
    {751c9dc0-4f51-44f6-920a-a620c7c2d13e}
    {7a5cca90-98c9-4e5e-a429-e31c9a2f013f}
    {a174e94e-a6f8-4041-9206-bf7b345729b0}
    {a77dcf21-545f-4191-b3d0-c396cf2683f2}
    {c821412b-1624-4abe-a845-50b2c98c2405}
    {ea93ad01-35c0-4e48-bae8-4313f95b81cb}
    {fecfa0cd-b2f7-4aa6-9295-4516404b6830}
    {F39C1C55-0FDA-4607-8C33-6D9E2A317762}

    5. Removed the local AS_Administrators group or the AS_Observers group on the computer.

    6. I removed all the references to the AppFabric and workflow in the web.config in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config

    Reboot the Windows 7 computer and reinstalled.
