[UWP]Possible ways to wake the modern standby machine through UWP app RRS feed

All replies

  • Hi,

UWP does not have the right to wake up the computer.

You can create a BackgroundTask to do background work, but you can't actively interfere with device startup.

    Best regards.

  • Thanks for the quick response Richasy

If that's the case then what is the point having modern standby machines?

I tired with schedule toast notifications, those can wake the machine.

  • Hi,

Sorry, I may not have described it clearly.

According to the description of the document, the UWP notification is theoretically able to wake up the device in standby mode. But this is not directly set by the developer.

After the application sends a notification, whether the device wakes up is determined by the power of the device, the priority of the application notification, etc., but the ability to determine this belongs to the system and the user, and the developer cannot interfere with this.

    Best regards.
