"The Silverlight 4 SDK is not installed" error after installing Update 2 of Visual Studio 2012 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have just installed the Update 2 for my Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate.

After installing the update and restarting the computer, I am not able to build Windows Phone  projects anymore. I always get "The Silverlight 4 SDK is not installed" error.

I have checked, and the SDK is installed. I have also tried by repairing the installation, but nothing.

Does anybody know which is the cause of the problem and how to solve it?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi,

as similar problem was discussed in there:
but this was of course before VS 2012 Update 2.

However, I assume the hints given in here might help also this time .....

e.g. go to your temp directory and clear it out......

    1. Uninstall WP8 SDK
    2. Uninstall all instances of Silverlight SDK and Rutime.
    3. Re-install WP8 SDK.

Please let us know if you could sort this out.

BTW: I also installed the VS 2012 Update 2 recently and on my environment it still works fine.
So it should not be a general problem.
