  • Hello,

Actually what you need is the SwapChainPanel   . It is a control providing the following function based on the doc:

"Provides a hosting surface, where Microsoft DirectX swap chains provide content that can be rendered into a XAML UI. A SwapChainPanel element is a key component for an app that renders Microsoft DirectX graphics and then presents those visuals within a XAML page."

That is to say, for UI part on UWP, you need SwapChainPanel, for your object that you want to load, you also need to use DirectX.

For details please see the remarks under SwapChainPanel, you can also find the code sample from the remark.

And it's also possible for you to convert a Unity app to UWP platform and add some functions. The following Weather sample contains the info you need.

So you have to choose based on your scenario and then render what you want.

By the way, the step by step doc to do this seems do not exist.

    Best regards,

  •     Hi Malinda,

Here is a very good training course from Microsoft's Virtual Academy:

It talks about 3D models and some very useful hints regarding optimization. I hope it helps.
