[UWP]My program reads files from a network computer. When debugging from Visual Studio this works fine, however when I sideload my app, it says 'Network Access Denied' RRS feed

  • Question

  • My UWP app reads information from a network computer. When you debug a UWP app on a computer, it installs it on that computer. When I run that installed version, it runs perfectly. However, when I create an application install package to sideload onto other computers, that installed version (when I attach a VS Debugger to it) says 'Network Access Denied' when trying to access the network files. I feel like this is a settings I need to change but can't figure out. Any help? Thanks.

  • Hi,

The first thing is that please check if the internet capability is enabled in the manifest file. How do you access the file in your code? There is not enough information about this issue. Could you please share more details about it? Can other devices that pin to the target computer?

    Best regards,

    Roy

  • I've already added the capabilities in my manifest file. I use commands like IO.File.ReadAllText to read data on the server.

  • Hi,

So how do you give path to your app? What does the path looks like?

    Best regards,
