Where does netplwiz store/read it's username list? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I would like to know where netplwiz gets it list of usernames from to implement it into C# code for retrieving usernames. This would be a great help and a better method than getting it from ProfileList in the registry if the user hasn't created it's profile yet.

    Many Thanks,

    Aramus

  • Hi,

Are you developing a UWP app? If it is, in UWP app, you could use User.FindAllAsync Method from the User Class to get current logged in the device.

But I'm sorry to say that it is not possible to get all the usernames using UWP apis. You might take a look at win32 APIs. As a note, not all APIs are allowed to use in UWP apps. To solve it, you could use it in a desktop app and then convert the app to UWP apps using desktop bridge.

    Best regards,

    Roy
