Windows 10 mobile APIs/ TUN adapter for Third Party VPN RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi ,

Can we build our own IPSec VPN client for Windows 10 mobile devices ?

We have our VPN client which runs on Windows desktop platforms . We are using virtual adapter for capturing IP packets and then encapsulating IP packets for IPSec on desktop platforms.

Can we achieve the same using virtual adapter or any other APIs in Windows 10 mobile ?

    Thanks in advance

It seems that the functions described in “Windows.Networking.Vpn namespace” would be that you want. But it is not available to all Windows and Windows Phone apps. For your code to call these APIs, Microsoft must approve your use of them and provision your developer account. Otherwise the calls will fail at runtime.

To arrange permission to use this API, contact Microsoft VPN API Support at msftvpnapi@microsoft.com.
