Failing to intall Microsoft Advertising SDK for XAML RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi. I am trying to install Microsoft Advertising SDK for XAML and following all the steps but still get this error in Microsoft Visual Studio Community 2019:

Severity    Code    Description    Project    File    Line    Suppression State
Error        DEP0800: The required framework "C:\Users\abiru\.nuget\packages\microsoft.advertising.xaml\10.1811.22001\SDK\Windows Kits\10\ExtensionSDKs\Microsoft.Advertising.Xaml\10.0\.\AppX\x64\Microsoft.Advertising.Xaml.x64.10.0.appx" failed to install. [0x80073CFB] Deployment of package Microsoft.Advertising.Xaml_10.1811.1.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe was blocked because the provided package has the same identity as an already-installed package but the contents are different. Increment the version number of the package to be installed, or remove the old package for every user on the system before installing this package.

I tried every solution I could find online and still the same error. Any advice?

    Thanks, Agnius.

  • Hi,

I tested the issue you said. But I could install the NuGet package correctly. Have you tried to install it in a new project? Will it give the same error?

And another thing is that according to the error message it seems that you have installed the NuGet Package before, maybe using the Msi installer? You could check if the SDK is already installed before.

    Best regards,

    Roy

  • We suggest you dont waste your time

    Why: because

    i) even if you submit an app to the store with ads SDK working, its unlikely any ads will get displayed at all

ii) fill rates have fallen off a cliff for apps that get past i)

iii) you have until June 2020 to change to a different ad provider ad the MS Ads SDK + infrastructure is being discontinued from then.

See the forums for more info on any/all of the above.
