CTP5: is this Concurrency issue fixed in it? RRS feed

Answers

  • Hugh,

I’m sorry you have been having trouble getting the info you are looking for.  There is a hotfix available that should fix the issue for you in EF4—info on how to get the hotfix can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2390624

Note that this issue is not fixed in CTP5.  This is because CTP5 builds on top of the core Entity Framework library shipped with .NET 4.0 to add support for Code First development and provide a new, more productive API for accessing the Entity Framework.  CTP5 does not change the core library in any way.  So if you install the hotfix you should be able to use it without installing CTP5.  You can of course use CTP5 with the hotfix installed and get its benefits there as well.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Arthur

  • I have this issue, but how do I get the hotfix.  I've been to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2390624, but that just says contact Customer Service.  When I try that, you want $100 just to send you an email!!!!  Can you send me some more detailed info on getting this fix, other then just contact Customer Service!!!!

    Thanks,

    Mike

  • A response to Mike's question about how to get the hotfix without having to pay an exorbitant amount would be helpful.

  • I tried to request the hotfix via:

    http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2390624

and the links I received in the email did not work, resulted in a 404 not found error.  Is there anyway to download this hotfix?
