App Certification Failure - Failed to Install on Xbox One

    Question

  • Today we received a failure never seen before.  Our app was failed because it failed to install on the tester's Xbox One, although it installed on their tablets.  This is an extremely odd failure given that our app passed WACK locally, is able to deploy to Xbox One without issue, and the fact that Microsoft builds the MSIX builder.  The tester also says Please verify that the app installs as expected and re-submit the app., but this is impossible because there is no current way for developers to sideload MSIX files through the Xbox One Device Portal (only APPX are supported). This seems to be a Microsoft issue, not a developer issue.  Please look into this ASAP as we would like to get our app on the store.

    Details:

    Built using VS2017 15.9.8

    Test ID: c30eee27-7773-49b1-8b60-952e09197e17

  • Hi GameFace.LLC,

According to your description, did you receive the app certification failure mail from the Microsoft? If you did, you'd better to reply the mail to team (may give you some specific advice according to your app package) to ask failure details and the solutions directly. The forum is a public place which is not good for protecting personal information and hard to give accurate analysis according to your description.

    Best regards
