Windows10, SSPR, error "the sign in method you're trying to use isn't allowed" RRS feed

  • Hope anyone can help, appreciate the assistance -

My organisation has self service password reset enabled, and I enabled the prompt on the lock screen on a Windows 10 Pc by setting the registry :

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\AzureADAccount
    • "AllowPasswordReset"=dword:00000001

The Reset password link appears now, but when clicking it, it returns an error that the sign in method isn't allowed"

When i then try to login with my password, it then goes to the password recovery. So it's as if it's working but it's not.

Any ideas? I've been thru the list of limitations on https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-sspr-windows and I've check the Control network access through NPS policy is enabled on my account.
