.NET 3.5 Client Profile

  • Hi,

Sorry, I don't think this is the correct place to post this thread... But, I really coulnd't get any other better place.

We was trying to compile our application and let it run on .NET 3.5 Client Profile by following the step by step here

But, after the installation, we found that, if the user machine does not have .NET 3.5 SP1 or .NET 3.5 installed, the system will bring them to this page
Only after the user download and install this Bootstrapper, and double click on the installer again, then only it will start install the .NET 3.5 Client Profile. But, I thought that the .NET 3.5 client profile suppose to be there for avoiding installing big huge .NET 3.5?

I guess I must be miss out something somewhere... please advice.

p/s: I just check on the Launch Conditions .NET Framework, the installURL were: and the version is 3.5.30729

    Please advice.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Ching-Yen,

What's the Operating system you are installing on? Had the system installed other versions of .NET Framework?

Actually, .NET 3.5 Client Profile is targeted for windows xp Operating systems with no .net components installed. If the .net Client Profile installation process detects other operating systems or any other versions .net components were installed, it will require you to install .Net Framework 3.5 service pack1.

For more details, please refer to .net 3.5 Client Profile Deployment Guide.

    Best regards,
    Bruce Zhou
