Punctuation in Speech Recognition RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am working on a dictation system using Azure Speech to Text APIs in Java.

    In order to transcribe I use the with continuous recognition, with the dictation enabled. Notwithstanding this, I noticed that the punctuation is written even if not pronounced (e.g. the period at the end of each utterance). Is there a way to disable this behavior?

    Thanks,

    Francesca

  • Hello Francesca,

    Since this property is set on the speech config and used when the continuous recognition starts it interprets word descriptions of sentence structures such as punctuation when the recognition starts and ends when stop is called.

    speech_recognizer.stop_continuous_recognition()

    But on the config there is currently no option to disable with a method as these properties are set usually during initialization.
