Deploying VSTO via network share and ClickOnce RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We developed a relatively simple VSTO that adds a ribbon to Outlook 2010.  It was created Visual Studio 2013.

We are using the "/silent" switch to run the setup.exe and distribute it to the users Outlook. Since we make changes to the ribbon, we'd like the user to always have the latest version. However, we've been getting the error below when the user launches Outlook.  Should we move to an local install for the VSTO rather than the network location?  How do you change that in Visual Studio?

This is what the add in looks like in Outlook.  It is running directly from the network.

    Thanks for your help.

    Matt

  • Hi,

This is the forum for questions about VSTO development, since your question is about deployment and version control, I will move the question to Clickonce forum, you will get more helpful and effective help there.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Lan

  • How do you change that in Visual Studio?

Rightclick on the Project--> Properties --> Publish --> Publishing Folder Location

  • Thanks for the response, it was helpful. This is actually two separate issues.  The licensing error was due to a third party project and not related to the VSTO/ClickOnce Install.
